Secure in His Grip: You’ll Never Reach the End of God’s Love ❤️

Have you ever felt like letting go? Life gets tough, temptations pull hard, or doubts creep in, and part of you just wants to step back from following Jesus for a while. But here’s the incredible truth:
God never lets go of you. 🙌

When my kids were little, we visited the Grand Canyon. My two boys were full of energy—wiggly and eager to explore right up to the edge. I gripped their hands tightly. No way was I letting them slip away! As their dad, my love for them was too strong to release them, no matter how much they squirmed.

That’s a tiny picture of God’s hold on us. Once you place your faith in Jesus and become His child, He holds you securely. Your feelings may fluctuate, circumstances may shake you, but God’s grip is unchanging.

The Promise from Jesus Himself

Jesus declares this powerful assurance in John 10:28 (ESV):

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

And it doesn’t stop there—John 10:29 (ESV) adds:

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

No one—not even you—can snatch yourself out. God’s hand is vast, infinite, bigger than the entire universe! You’ll never wander to the edge of it. You’ll never exhaust the depths of His love.

Nothing Can Separate You

The Apostle Paul echoes this unbreakable security in Romans 8:38-39 (ESV):

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Think about that list—nothing in existence can break that bond. Not your past sins, not future failures, not even the chaos of the world.

Once Born Again, Always His

Being born again spiritually is permanent. You can’t be “unborn.” Your name is written in the Book of Life with the indelible ink of Christ’s blood. Once saved, you are always saved—not because of your strength, but because of His faithfulness.

Philippians 1:6 (ESV) promises:

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

God finishes what He starts. You might lose jobs, health, or loved ones, but you will never lose your salvation. The world may spiral into madness, but your loving Father is sovereignly working all things for your good (Romans 8:28).

Addressing the Doubts

Someone once said to me, “You can’t be snatched out of God’s hand, but you can jump out.” But how? His hand is so immense—do you really think you could reach the edge and leap? Impossible! His love pursues you relentlessly.

There will be moments when you sin or feel distant. God doesn’t remove your free will—He allows choices so genuine love and growth can happen. Yet even in those times, He disciplines as a loving Father (Hebrews 12:6), drawing you back, never abandoning you.

Reflect and Respond

Take a moment to think it over:

  • Recall times when you wanted to “let go” of God’s hand. What circumstances or feelings triggered that? How did God stay faithful anyway? 🤔
  • Why do you think God allows Christians to still sin? (Hint: It grows our dependence on grace and conforms us to Christ’s image.)
  • When doubts about forgiveness hit, cling to promises like 1 John 1:9 (ESV)“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Or John 5:24 (ESV): “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

You can walk with bold confidence today. The One holding you is never letting go. Rest in that truth! 💪✝️

A Prayer for Assurance

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the unbreakable grip of Your love. When I feel weak, tempted, or doubtful, remind me of Your promises in John 10:28-29 and Romans 8:38-39. Help me trust that nothing—not even my own failings—can separate me from You in Christ. Thank You for eternal life, for grace that covers every sin, and for the assurance that You will complete the work You’ve started in me.

Strengthen my faith today. Draw me closer, even when I wander. May I live with joy and confidence, knowing I’m secure in Your hand forever.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen. 🙏
